When asked by ConocoPhillips to take on the challenge of a marketing presentation to c-level execs, it seemed like a natural fit for what we do, and as it turns out, it was.
Only a small percentage of their executive team has ever been out to a site to see how the oil and gas is actually extracted from the ground, separated, process, stored, and then sold downstream. ConocoPhillips wanted an engaging and exciting presentation to give an intimate, accurate, and concise experience while saving time and travel for their team.
The Solution: A headset based oil field experience
We created a headset based VR solution that would replicate an actual site visit starting with a safety briefing, to walking through each stage of extraction, how it is processed, tested, and even exactly how it is sold. This presentation includes aerial 360s that allow you to virtually fly around the site, then jump down into any part of it to learn the particulars using full motion 360 video. Employees from the site were enlisted to explain each specific area on camera, and thru recorded voiceovers. We also used clickable information hotspots to show safety cards, and drill down into finer detail in certain areas.
The result is an ~8 minute business presentation that actually takes you there.
